Paul Janes presents:
ILP004 #DropTheBass - Oldskool Bass Sample Collection
This 250MB collection includes 179 one-shot bass samples for use in any style of electronic music, taking inspiration from the types of bass patches heard in 1990's oldskool electronic genres.
Each sample has been programmed, processed, tuned, looped and tagged with it's root note and most effective octave position.
In addition, a LoFi version of each sound is also included to mimic tracker technology and samplers from back in the day. Although the extra grunge may seem way over the top it can help bring life to a sterile computer based production.
The samples can be used in any sample player that supports .wav files. Root note and loop points are embedded in each sample, so they can easily be dropped into plug-ins such as Ableton Sampler, with the minimum of hassle!
Each sound also has a corresponding .nki instrument file for use with Native Instruments Kontakt 4 (and above). Each Kontakt Instrument has a set of MIDI controllers mapped and ready to tweak, making the sounds easy to sculpt within a mix.
Most of the samples are not detuned in any way, so they can be stacked, layered and tuned with minimal fuss.
All sounds were put together with a 90's oldskool vibe in mind. All noise is intentional!
The audio demo showcases some of the sounds available.
Noise makers used to create this collection:
